Retailers typically have several paper-based
forms and contracts that are time consuming
to fill out and restrict the throughput
of POS lanes. These paper-based forms
require considerable storage space and
labor to organize and maintain them.
OCR Smartform allows retailers to image
an identity instrument, such as the face
of a driver’s license, and through
optical character recognition (OCR), lift
the customer’s name, address, etc,
and prepopulate fields within a virtual
form with that data.
OCR Smartform will also accept PIN pad
data, such as a guest’s Social Security
number, or new telephone number.
The form is then printed for the store
associate or guest to sign. The signature
image is lifted and added to the form
data, which is then converted into a tamper-proof
PDF document, ready for digital storage,
or reproduction.
